SortRegistry
Then use a file compare utility (I use UltraEdit because I have it) to show the differences between the two. Windiff is a free program to do file comparisons. There are others out there that are more powerful, but this one is free. The problem I had (much more of an annoyance than a problem) is that SSnap doesn't seem to sort the file. So, if you have two chuncks of Registry entries that are the same, but appear in different places in the two files, they show up as differences. You can run SortRegistry on each file to be sure the files are sorted the same. That will show the true differences between the two files. There is no install program. Just download the exe and run it. It will show an OpenFile Dialog box to browse to the input file. It will then give the option to save the sorted file to a different name. |
